SWEEP OPERATION IN NICOSIA AND FAMAGUSTA - 30 ILLEGAL FOREIGNERS ARRESTED - Filenews 25/2
This morning, members of the Aliens and Immigration Service, in collaboration with members of the Sub-Directorate for the Surveillance of the Green Line and Migration Flows, conducted coordinated operations in the provinces of Nicosia and Famagusta.
During the operations, a total of 30 foreign nationals of third countries, who were illegally residing in the Republic of Cyprus, were located and arrested.
- 17 foreigners were located and arrested in Nicosia district,
- 13 foreigners were located and arrested in the province of Famagusta.
All those arrested were transferred to the Menogia detention center (HOKAM), where the necessary procedures for repatriation to their countries of origin are being carried out.
