LOCAL RAIN FROM WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING, WITH FALL IN TEMPERATURE ON THURSDAY

An unstable air mass is temporarily affecting the region, while a cold air mass will affect Cyprus from Thursday.

Today, the weather will be mainly clear, however in the afternoon locally increased cloudiness will be observed which may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and later on the south coast up to strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough and gradually locally to rough.

The temperature will rise to 19 degrees inland and on the coast and to 9 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow night, the weather will be mainly clear, however in the west it will gradually become partly cloudy. Winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be rough. On Wednesday, the weather will be mainly cloudy at times with local rain until the early morning hours of Thursday, mainly in the western half of the island. The rest of Thursday and Friday, locally increased cloudiness is not ruled out, which may give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains and inland, while on the highest peaks of Troodos it is possible that snow or sleet will fall. The temperature on Wednesday will remain at the same levels, while on Thursday it will drop noticeably and on Friday it will not change significantly, to fluctuate below the average climatological values.
