FOOT & MOUTH - HUNTING BAN IN AREAS SHOWN

The Government is banning hunting and training of hunting dogs in a specific area where affected livestock units are located, as part of measures to limit the possibility of foot-and-mouth disease transmission.

As announced by the Game and Fauna Service, the decision is part of a broader set of preventive actions aimed at protecting animal production and protecting public health.

According to the announcement, the ban concerns both hunting and training of hunting dogs within the designated zone, where the livestock units affected by the restrictive measures operate.

The competent authorities point out that the movement of people, vehicles and animals in rural areas increases the risk of spreading the virus, which is why it is necessary to temporarily restrict activities that could contribute to the transmission of the disease.

It is recalled that foot-and-mouth disease is a highly contagious viral disease that mainly affects productive animals, causing serious economic impacts on the livestock sector.

The Game and Fauna Service calls on hunters and dog owners to demonstrate responsibility and fully comply with the measures, emphasizing that everyone's cooperation is crucial to limiting the risk.
