ENROLMENT AND TRANSFER OF GRADE A STUDENTS OF GYMNASIUMS, LYCEUMS AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2026-27 BEGIN - PROCEDURE AND TIMETABLES

 Filenews 4 February 2026

In the context of the digitization of administrative functions, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YPAN) is implementing the eDEA electronic system for the electronic processing of pre-registrations and transfers of students of Grade A of Public Gymnasiums, Lyceums and Technical Vocational Schools of Education and Training (TESEK), for the school year 2026-2027.

In a relevant announcement, it is emphasized that, in order for the pre-registration/transfer of students to be possible, through the "Electronic Administration of Education and Training" (eDEA) system, parents/guardians must create an account in CY Login and then create their profile as well as their child's profile in the electronic eCMP system (see paragraph 2). This process is only required once and does not need to be repeated as long as the profiles have already been created. Parents/guardians are encouraged to complete the above actions before the start of the submission of electronic pre-registrations.

For the pre-registration of students of Grade B and C (Public Gymnasiums, Lyceums and TESEK), for the school year 2026-2027, no application will be submitted. Parents/guardians are requested not to proceed with the submission of an electronic pre-registration request for these classes. However, they are encouraged to proceed with the creation of a CY Login account and the relevant profiles in the eCMP system.

For the smooth conduct of pre-registrations/transfers to Grade A of Public Gymnasiums/Lyceums/Technical Schools, parents/guardians are requested to follow the following:

Application Deadline

(a) 05 – 15 February 2026: Period for the submission of electronic pre-registration requests for Grade A of Public Lower Secondary Schools.

(b) 16 – 27 February 2026: Period for the submission of electronic pre-registration requests for Grade A of Public Upper Secondary Schools/TESEK.

(c) 02 – 13 March 2026: Period for the submission of electronic transfer requests (change of school outside their educational region) for Grade A of Public Lower Secondary Schools.

(d) 16 – 31 March 2026: Period for the submission of electronic transfer requests for Grade A of Public Upper Secondary Schools and TESEK.

Students who submit a pre-registration request late will be referred to the nearest school in their area with vacancies.

Pre-registration process

The pre-registration process consists of the following steps:

  • Creation of a CY Login Account for the parent/guardian
  • Login to the eCM Portal
  • Create a Parent/Guardian Profile
  • Create a Student Profile
  • Application for Pre-Registration of a Student
  • Submission of Pre-Registration Application

It is reminded that, for the pre-registration of students, parents/guardians must have an account in CY Login. Those parents/guardians who have not already created a CY Login account, can follow the relevant procedure described HEREhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enHBKHGLQyo [in Greek]

Parents/guardians who will face any problem with the creation of a CY Login account, can contact the Citizen Service Centers.

After creating a CY Login account, parents/guardians should go to the eCMP portal, at the link: https://edea.schools.ac.cy and select "Parent/guardian portal". Login is done by entering the username and password of the CY Login account.

After logging in to the system, parents/guardians can access the "eCMP Portal User Guide" to provide additional information. This guide can be found in the announcements on the home page of the system.

In addition, parents/guardians can watch the relevant video-guide for electronic pre-registrations:

Watch YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCznJI9FXIA&t=4s [in Greek]

As far as the school of attendance is concerned, this is determined on the basis of the educational districts.

In addition, for technical support of the eCMP Portal, parents/guardians can contact either the helpdesk on 22 558618 (Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:00) or electronically at: edea-support@schools.ac.cy.

Online pre-registration is mandatory. The finalization of registrations will be completed at the end of June 2026. It is pointed out that the Directorates of Secondary General and Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training reserve the right to differentiate or cancel the choices of parents/guardians, if this is required by service needs (e.g. educational regions, permanent residence directorate, occupancy of departments).

The school will study all online pre-registration applications, with the relevant attachments, and will check their correctness.

Parents/guardians will be notified through the system:

• either for approval of pre-registration

• either to fill in/attach specific items/data/information/forms.

In order to settle pending issues (correction/completion), parents/guardians may resubmit their application, within the time frames determined as follows:

• 16 – 25 February 2026 (for Gymnasiums).

• 02 – 11 March 2026 (for Lyceums/TESEK)

The school will study all online pre-registration applications for which additional data/data/information/forms were expected and will notify, through the system, parents/guardians for approval of pre-registration. If for any reason there are still pending issues, the school contacts the parents/guardians by phone, to complete the pre-registrations.

Transfer Process

Parents/guardians who wish to transfer their child to a school outside their educational region must submit an online application within the exclusive deadlines. It is noted that after the end of these periods, it will not be possible to submit new applications.

It is understood that in order to be able to submit a transfer application, parents/guardians must have previously followed the pre-registration procedure as described above, in order to enrol their child in the school determined by the system and receive the relevant approval.

To submit a transfer application, parents/guardians should go to the eCMP portal and select "Transfers" from the "Services For Parents/Guardians" menu. Subsequently, they will have to register and justify the reason for the transfer, register the destination school and submit the transfer application.

The approval or rejection of transfer applications will be done through the electronic eCMP system. Specifically, both parents/guardians and schools affected will be informed through the system. The student, if his/her transfer is approved, will be automatically transferred to the new school, through the system, without the need to re-enrol in the new school.

Educational regions

All children, of any nationality, residing in Cyprus, regardless of the legal or non-legal residence of their parents/guardians, have the right to register.

The educational regions of Secondary General Education, for the school year 2026-2027, have been published on the website of the Ministry of Education. Parents/guardians can be informed about the school of their children's attendance, based on their permanent residence address, at the following link: https://www.moec.gov.cy/dme/ekpaideftikes_perifereies.html.

The educational regions have been integrated into the eEDP electronic system. When submitting a pre-registration application, the system will automatically display the school where the child must be enrolled, based on their permanent residence address. In case a child's home address is not registered in the system, parents/guardians are invited to contact the relevant District Office for Secondary General Education to receive relevant instructions.

The educational regions of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training are presented HERE**. It is emphasized that the eDEA electronic system does not automatically preselect the school of study. Parents/guardians must choose the appropriate school of attendance themselves, following the instructions of Annex A. In case of a school declaration that does not correspond to the student's educational region, the request will be rejected. Regarding the educational regions of the Technical Schools, the public can contact the teacher of Counselling and Vocational Education (SEA) of the Lower Secondary School in which the student attends.

Necessary Certificates and Documents

Parents/guardians are required to scan and attach the following forms/certificates to the eCMP system in order to successfully complete the application process:

  • Birth Certificate/Identity Card/Alien Registration Card (ARC)

For students who were not born in Cyprus and whose details cannot be confirmed by the Civil Registry, an Identity Card or a Foreigner Registration Card (ARC) is required.

For students who were born in Cyprus and whose details are automatically confirmed by the system, through the Civil Registry, it is not required to present a Birth Certificate/Identity Card/Alien Registration Card (ARC).

  • Accounts proving the postal address of residence

All parents/guardians should attach two (2) of the following three bills: electricity, water, garbage to prove that the postal address of the student's residence is the one declared and falls within the educational district of the school.

  • Consent form of the other parent for registration and transfer It is recommended that both parents/guardians register in CY Login and create a parent/guardian profile on eDEA, so that they both have access to all information concerning their child. In the event that, for any reason, one parent/guardian does not create a profile on the eEMP, the Consent Form should be attached, authorizing the parent/guardian using the system to act on behalf of both. The form must be attached in any case, whether it is the pre-registration of the student or his/her transfer.
