Ioanna Fotiou made her decisions and announced that she will proceed with a written statement to the Cypriot authorities, through a lawyer. She announced the development on social media, stressing that she made the decision after consultation with people she trusted in Cyprus and Russia.
She clarified that her stance for the time being will be defensive and she is treating the whole issue with particular caution. In the next few hours, as she said, she will discuss the procedures with her lawyer in Cyprus, whom she trusts completely.
"I know that their purpose is to make me unreliable, every time they make me unreliable I will throw at them an element that I will prove to them that they are incompetent," Annie Alexui said, among other things. She also added that the main reason she made the decision to proceed with a written testimony is the Minister of Justice, Kostas Fytiris. She clarified that although she does not trust him either, she wants to believe that he will do what he can.
"I will timidly make the beginning, keeping huge reservations because I know what they want to do and I also know how to deal with it," she noted.
As Filenews had written earlier, Kostas Fytiris had given Ioanna Fotiou three options on how her case could proceed. Speaking on the midday show of ANT1, the Minister explained that: "The first is for someone to go and testify to the Police and hand over the evidence. This proposal is rejected by her. The second option is to submit the data outside Cyprus, to a team that would be sent by the Republic of Cyprus. The third option is to testify through a lawyer or even to me, keeping a copy, so that the investigation can begin."
