Two small dams of Paphos, Mavrokolympos and Pomos, had been completely emptied a few months ago. Both because of the drought and because of the failure in the case of Mavrokolympos.
Despite their capacity being less than three million, both are very important for the areas of the western low-lying area of Paphos and the northernmost point of the district. In mid-January, Pomos is now over 50% of its capacity and close to 40% is Mavrokolympos.
