The Xeros River began to flow again in Nata, carrying water to the Asprokremmos dam and giving a small hope of strengthening the reserves.
An afternoon video of the last day of the year, by Matthaios Vladimiros, owner of a tavern in Nata, fills us with hope. The Xeros River is finally running, albeit with reduced intensity, carrying water to the Asprokremmos dam.
The second largest dam in Cyprus, like the rest of the dams in Cyprus, are below 10% of their capacity. Since October 1, only 260 thousand cubic meters of water have flowed into the dam, an amount that experts estimate will flow in the next 24 hours.
