Pafos Live 22 January 2026
With the publication of the Call for Expression of Interest on the Internet, this year's Pafos Aphrodite Festival was launched, which will be held on September 4 – 5 in the Medieval Castle Square of Paphos.
As in the two previous editions, this year's Festival, the 24th in the history of the institution, will include two performances of an opera work.
In keeping with its commitment to the continuous renewal, enrichment and upgrading of the Festival, Pafos Aphrodite Festival Cyprus – which belongs to the Municipality of Paphos – introduces three new elements through the Invitation for this year's Festival.
The first is the obligation of the economic operators who will submit a bid to include in the soloists who will interpret the secondary roles at least one person of Cypriot origin.
The second is the suggestion to potential bidders to include in the choir and dance group (where applicable) persons residing and active in Cyprus. In addition, it is pointed out that it is important for the Company to participate in the production on stage as extras of persons residing in Cyprus of different ages, depending on the needs of the play and the direction.
The third is the obligation of the bidder who will be selected for the production, organization and performance of the Festival to organize in Cyprus before the start of the master class performances (specialization seminar) in which the conductor of the orchestra, a soloist with a leading role in the work and a dancer will teach in person. It is also stipulated that the contractor will organize a presentation by members of the leading production team, specifically the director of the orchestra and the director, at the Paphos Music School.
The company Pafos Aphrodite Festival Cyprus, expressing its warm thanks to the music-loving public and all the supporters of the institution of the Festival without exception for their long-term support, promises that this year's event will be such that it will justify the reputation of the Festival and confirm its recognition as one of the best of its kind in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
The invitation in Greek and English is posted on the website of the Municipality of Paphos www.pafos.org.cy in the News and Announcements section. For additional information and clarifications, interested parties can contact tel. 26932014 and 99753089.
