IN WHICH AREA DID IT RAIN THE MOST IN JANUARY - THE PERCENTAGES

The average rainfall for the free areas in January exceeded the normal values for the month, reaching 117% by January 29, according to the Department of Meteorology.

The average total amount of rain that fell since the 1st of the year amounted to 119.8 millimeters.

The largest excess in the normal prices for the month was recorded in Nicosia (Athalassa), with 85.1 mm, compared to 48 mm which is the normal value for the month, recording a coverage of 177%. High coverage rates (138%) are also recorded in Pano Panagia and Frenaros, but also in Xylotymbou (133%) and Larnaca Airport (132%).

On the contrary, the lowest percentages, which remain close to the average values for the month, were recorded in Limassol (Neo Porti) with 76% and in Prodromos (89%). These are the only areas, according to the Department of Meteorology, that did not cover at least 100% of the average rainfall for the month.

In absolute terms, the most rainfall from the first of the month was recorded in Platania with 225 mm and in Pano Panagia with 211.6 mm. The smallest amount of rainfall was recorded in Limassol (New Port) with 72.6 mm and in Xylotymbou with 79.1 mm.

Compared to the normal rainfall since the beginning of this season (1/10), the average rainfall to date is 95%, with the majority of areas being close to 100%.
