The Meeting of the Chairs of the European Affairs Committees of the Parliaments of the Member States of the European Union (COSAC) will be hosted by the House of Representatives on January 11 and 12 in the context of the parliamentary dimension of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, according to an announcement by the House.
It is noted that the Meeting will be attended by delegations of the parliaments of the EU member states, the European Parliament, the candidate countries, as well as observers.
According to the announcement, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, a meeting of the Presidential Troika (Denmark, Cyprus, Ireland and the European Parliament) will be held, followed by a cultural event and an official dinner hosted in honour of the participants by the President of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Harris Georgiades.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, will address the opening of the Meeting, while the work will be chaired by the President of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Haris Georgiadis, it is stated.
During the Meeting, it is noted, the priorities of the Cyprus Presidency will be presented by the Deputy Minister of the Presidency for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, while MEP Yiannis Maniatis and the President of the European Affairs Committee of the French Senate, Jean-François Rapin, will analyze the current European geopolitical challenges and the "necessary" political responses.
