In a special way, the Paphos Winter Swimmers celebrated the coming of the new year again this year: The wishes for a Happy New Year, the Christmas carols, the Christmas tree and the costumes with the decorations of the days, appeared in the water from the morning, creating a unique setting in the sea of the Municipal Baths of Kato Paphos.
Dozens of winter swimmers attended, after Christmas, the New Year's celebration in the sea, despite the fact that, unlike Christmas, today started with more severe weather conditions. The New Year's feast followed, in which rich festive dishes, plenty of drink and music were offered.
The winter swimmers cut their vasilopita for another year and renewed their festive appointment on Christmas 2026 and New Year's Day 2027.
Until then, of course, their appointment will be daily for the usual morning swim, rain or shine.
