The Republic of Cyprus has modern technological equipment and high-level training and education of human resources in the field of air traffic, which ensures extremely high levels of flight safety, reports the Mediterranean Flight Safety Foundation (SE Europe – Cyprus), in relation to the recent events regarding the problem that arose in aircraft communications in the FIR of Greece.
At the same time, the institution states in a statement that "the creation of a separate air traffic service provider company is expected to contribute decisively to the further upgrading of the services offered, effectively responding to the continuous increase in air traffic in the region".
In relation to the problem that arose in communications with aircraft in Greek airspace, the Mediterranean Flight Foundation states that "at no time was flight safety endangered" and expresses the need for constant vigilance, while calling on all stakeholders to proceed with the strengthening of air traffic control and management systems, with the aim of avoiding similar incidents in the future.
The Mediterranean Flight Foundation says it remains committed to promoting flight safety and supporting any initiative that enhances the reliability and resilience of air traffic systems.
