The Meteorological Service issued a yellow warning for isolated thunderstorms and hail on Sunday afternoon. The yellow warning comes into effect from 11 am on Sunday (21/12) until 20:00 in the evening of the same day.
According to the announcement of the Meteorological Service, isolated storms are expected to initially affect the western, northern, southern and later other areas of the island. The intensity of the rain is likely to exceed 35 millimeters per hour, while hail is also possible.

Low pressure begins to affect the area. Thin dust is expected in the atmosphere from time to time.
Tonight the weather will continue to be mostly cloudy and isolated light showers may occur. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast light, 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to 11 degrees inland, around 13 on the coast and 7 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow the weather will be mostly cloudy and gradually local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially in the western half of the island and later in other areas. Hail may fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily locally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. In a storm, the winds will strengthen and change. The sea will initially be a little rough and will gradually become a little rough to rough. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow night the weather will soon become partly cloudy without ruling out isolated rains, mainly in coastal areas. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will be a little rough.
On Monday and Tuesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, while isolated rains or even a storm are expected from time to time. On the highest peaks of Troodos, it is possible that sleet or even snow will fall. On Wednesday, temporarily increased clouds will appear.
The temperature on Monday will not change significantly to fluctuate slightly above the average climatic values. On Tuesday it will drop slightly and on Wednesday it will rise again slightly.
