Following a decision of the Council of Ministers dated December 23, 2025, the State is proceeding with the revision of the minimum wage limits, with the issuance and publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic, on December 31, 2025, of a new Decree pursuant to the Minimum Wage Law (K.D.P. 427/2025).
The new Decree comes into force from 1 January 2026 and sets revised minimum wage thresholds for full-time employees in the Republic.
New minimum wages
According to the provisions of the Decree:
- The National Minimum Wage upon recruitment is increased from €900 to €979 gross, for employees who have not completed six (6) months of continuous employment with the same employer.
- After completing six (6) months of continuous employment, the minimum monthly salary increases from €1,000 to €1,088 gross.
The above amounts correspond to full-time employment, while for cases of part-time employment, a proportional adjustment is provided, based on working hours in relation to full-time.
Working hours and other provisions
The Decree maintains as full-time working hours that which were in force at the time of its issuance, in accordance with legislation, decree, collective agreement, custom or practice applicable to any economic activity.
At the same time, the Amending Decree of 2023 is repealed, while technical references to relevant decrees concerning special areas of employment are updated.
