HAIL STORMS IN PAPHOS - EVEN THE COAST AND THE PAPHOS-LIMASSOL HIGHWAY TURNED WHITE

The skies in Paphos opened for good from 12 noon onwards. Torrential rains fall for some time throughout the province, creating a very promising setting for the hydrological situation, but also a truly Christmas atmosphere at noon on Sunday.

Heavy rainfall is even accompanied by hail in many cases, which results in the creation of rare images of white landscapes even in coastal areas, such as Geroskipou, the western coastline of Paphos and the airport area.

A lot of water has also accumulated on the Paphos-Limassol highway, as well as in central parts of the road network within the city of Paphos, which require special attention from motorists. The Fire Brigade and other state services are in full readiness to provide assistance to the extreme phenomena that are currently unfolding in Paphos.
