FLOODS AND PROBLEMS, WITHOUT NOTICEABLE WATER FLOW IN THE PAPHOS DAMS

Filenews 8 December 2025

There was no noticeable flow in the dams of the Paphos district with the latest rainfall and despite the intense flooding phenomena especially in the district of Polis Chrysochous, according to the District Engineer of the Paphos Water Development Department, Haris Kasioulis.

In his statements, Mr. Kasioulis said that the rains of the last three days are considered very beneficial for agriculture because they have been absorbed by the ground. He also said that if the ground is saturated and the rainfall starts again, the influx into the dams is expected to begin.

He noted that in none of the dams in the area, such as the Argaka dam, the Evretos dam, the Pomos dam and the small dam of Agia Marina Chrysochous, has a significant inflow been recorded.
