A new yellow warning has been issued by the Department of Meteorology, as the bad weather Byron continues to affect Cyprus.
The warning went into effect at 5:00 am until 5:00 am on Wednesday. Hail may also fall in a storm, while the winds will change and strengthen. The intensity of the rain is likely to range from 35 to 55 millimeters per hour.
The total rain is likely to exceed 55 millimeters around the clock.

Today, it will be mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected from time to time. Hail may also fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly northeast and temporarily locally variable, moderate and locally to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough to rough. The temperature will rise to 17 degrees inland, around 20 on the coast and 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly cloudy, and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times. Hail may also fall in a storm. Winds will be mainly north to northeast and locally variable light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough to rough. The temperature will drop to 12 degrees inland, around 14 on the coast and 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.
On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times. On Thursday, the weather will be cloudy at times and local rains are expected, without ruling out an isolated storm, while from late afternoon the weather will improve noticeably. On Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy.
The temperature is not expected to change significantly during the three days and will remain close to the average climatic values.
