The number of job vacancies amounted to 14,573 in the third quarter of 2025, recording a decrease of 1,437 positions (-9%) compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024, when vacancies amounted to 16,010, according to data from the Statistical Service.
A downward trend is also recorded on a quarterly basis, as compared to the second quarter of 2025, a decrease of 1,480 positions was observed, corresponding to a drop of 9.2%.
The percentage of job vacancies in relation to total jobs stood at 3% in the third quarter of 2025, compared to 3.3% in the previous quarter and 3.5% in the corresponding quarter of 2024, which reflects a reduction in pressures on the labour market.
According to the data, the highest vacancy rates in the third quarter of 2025 were recorded in the sectors of Mines and Quarries (5.9%), Accommodation and Food Service Activities (4.1%) and Wholesale and Retail Trade, as well as Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles (4.1%).
