Weak high pressure temporarily affects the area, while thin dust may be suspended in the atmosphere from time to time until the evening. The barometric low, called ADEL and center in Greece, is moving northeast and will begin to affect the island from the evening. It is recalled that a Yellow warning for storms was issued by the Department of Meteorology. The warning is valid from 23:00 on Saturday (29/11) until 17:00 on Sunday (30/11).
Today, in the morning hours there will be increased high clouds, however gradually the weather will become partly cloudy and isolated rains are expected in the western half of the island, without ruling out an isolated storm in the northwest. Winds will be mainly southeast to southwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and late afternoon windward to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 25 degrees inland and on the coasts and to 13 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, initially in the west and north and progressively in the rest of the areas. Hail is expected to fall in a storm, while on the highest peaks of Troodos it is possible that sleet will fall. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be a little rough and later in the west to rough. The temperature will drop to 11 degrees inland, around 14 on the coast and 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
Local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected on Sunday. Hail is expected to fall in a storm, while the winds may change and strengthen. On the highest peaks of Troodos, it is possible that sleet will fall.
On Monday, locally increased clouds will be observed from time to time, which are expected to give isolated rains.
On Tuesday, the weather in most areas will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, which in the mountains may give isolated rains.
The temperature on Sunday will drop, while until Tuesday it is not expected to change appreciably, to thus fluctuate close to the average climatic values of the season.
