A completely new, modern beach will be enjoyed from next summer by the thousands of Paphos and foreign visitors who prefer the beach of Timi for their sea baths and sunbathing. The Municipality of Ierokipia submitted last May to the Central Beaches Committee a Use Plan for the "Kathari" Beach in Timi, as provided for in the Beach Protection Law, and is awaiting final approval to form the new area of water activities of the Municipality.
The Plan reflects the way in which the various services and facilities will be located on the beach in question, while at the same time the Municipality has submitted a request to the Department of Lands and Surveys for the opening of the public road leading to the beach.
The Municipality of Ierokipia has submitted a request to the Turkish Cypriot Property Management Service for the lease of part of a Turkish Cypriot plot of 2650 sq.m., with the aim of creating a snack-bar-type café and an organized parking space.
On the beach, meanwhile, individual works to improve the beach and its infrastructure are planned, pending the approval of the Use Plan by the Central Beach Committee.
