The expansion works of Paphos International Airport are in full swing, which are being carried out in parallel with the corresponding works carried out for the same purpose at Larnaca Airport. In Paphos, the works are now expanding, in addition to the building changes, to the issue of the creation of new detours for the rapid exit of aircraft from the runway, which will greatly upgrade the capabilities of the unit and the services provided to the aircraft.
The ongoing projects in the context of Phase B concern the increase by approximately 30% of the capacity of the Paphos Airport terminal, significantly improving the passenger experience and the efficiency of controls and procedures, while at the same time the southern parallel taxiway is being expanded, enhancing the operational flexibility of the airport.
As part of the projects, Hermes Airports is already implementing from the beginning of the month and until the beginning of December new partial arrangements on the road outside the airport arrivals. In particular, throughout the works during this period, one lane of the road network in front of the terminal building will be kept open at all times to ensure the continuous flow of vehicle traffic.
There will be special signage at the point that will redirect traffic, while during peak hours there will be on-site staff in order to help better arrange the flow of vehicles and the safety of passers-by.
