Due to the fire that broke out on a bus in the province of Paphos this morning, an emergency meeting was held by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeadis, in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry and representatives of the Department of Road Transport, Electromechanical Services and the Directorate of Public Passenger Transport.
At the meeting, it was decided that an expert from abroad should be immediately called again to investigate the incident. It is noted that the expert, who was recently called for a similar incident, will be in Paphos on Saturday, on 8/11/2025 and will check all the buses of the same type as the one in which the fire broke out. The expert will then carry out sample checks on buses and in the other provinces.
Until the inspection of the buses of the same type in the Paphos district is completed, they are immediately immobilized.
The affected passengers will be informed by the company.
