MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Larnaca-Famagusta Motorway
In the section from Larnaca Airport to the exit to Xylotymvos in both directions, from Tuesday 04/11/2025 until Friday 21/11/2025, daily except Sundays, between the hours of 08:30 – 16:30, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as to collect and remove useless objects from the shoulders and slopes of the motorway, including its junctions. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections. Traffic will be carried out unhindered in the traffic lanes.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
Along the entire length of the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway in both directions, including its junctions, from Monday 20/10/2025 to Wednesday 05/11/2025, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30–16:30, work will be carried out on the shoulders and slopes, for cutting, collecting and removing grass, as well as the collection and removal of useless objects. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections, for a length of 500m. at a time. Traffic will be carried out unhindered in the traffic lanes.
In sections in both directions of the motorway, from Friday 31/10/2025 to Friday 07/11/2025, daily except Sundays, between the hours of 07:30 – 15:00, work will be carried out to clean the paved ruts on the shoulders, including the junctions. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections, for a length of 1 km. at a time. Traffic will be carried out unhindered in the traffic lanes.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the section between the Rizoelia roundabout in Aradippou and the exit to Athienou in both directions of the motorway, from Wednesday 29/10/2025 until Monday 03/11/2025, daily except Sunday, between the hours of 08:30–16:30, work will be carried out to cut, collect and remove grass, as well as the collection and removal of useless objects from the shoulders and slopes on the motorway, including its junctions. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections. Traffic will be carried out unhindered in the traffic lanes.
From Friday 31/10/2025 until Monday 03/11/2025, cleaning works will be carried out on the central lane of the Nicosia-Limassol and Nicosia-Larnaca motorways, using a sweeper, as follows:
On Friday 31/10/2025, from 22:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, works will be carried out on the motorway from the junction with Athalassa and Limassol avenues (Fota Kalispera) in Nicosia, up to Skarinou, in the direction from Nicosia to Limassol.
On Saturday 01/11/2025, from 22:00 at night until 06:00 the next morning, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway from Skarinou to the junction with Athalassa and Limassol avenues (Good evening photos) in Nicosia, in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia.
On Sunday 02/11/2025, from 22:00 at night until 06:00 the next morning, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Larnaca motorway in both directions.
During the works, the sweeper will be constantly accompanied by two (2) vehicles with traffic lights and a police patrol car, for safety reasons both for workers and other road users.
Limassol-Licosia Motorway
During the period 22/09/2025 – 10/12/2025, works will be carried out to improve the entrance lane to the motorway, from Parekklisia to Limassol. During the works, the shoulder of the motorway will be closed for a length of approximately 300 meters and traffic will proceed normally, without the cutting off of traffic lanes.
From 8/10/2025 to 7/11/2025, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00, on the old Nicosia – Limassol road, between the communities of Kalavasos and Mari, maintenance works will be carried out on the bridge safety barriers. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed alternately for a length of 20m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using traffic light signals.
From Friday 31/10/2025 until Monday 03/11/2025, cleaning works will be carried out on the central lane of the Nicosia-Limassol and Nicosia-Larnaca motorways, using a sweeper, as follows:

On Saturday 01/11/2025, from 22:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway from Skarinou to the connection with Athalassa and Limassol avenues (Good evening lights) in Nicosia, in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia.
On Sunday 02/11/2025, from 22:00 at night until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, works will be carried out on the Nicosia - Larnaca motorway in both directions.
During the works, the sweeper will be constantly accompanied by two (2) vehicles with traffic lights and a Police patrol car, for safety reasons both for workers and other road users.
On the section of the motorway from the Kotsiatis exit to the Viomichaniki Idalion exit, in the direction of Nicosia, on Monday 03/11/2025 and Tuesday 04/11/2025, from 20:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the next day, road surface removal and resurfacing works will be carried out. During the works, all three lanes of the motorway in the direction of Nicosia will be closed for a length of approximately 3 km.
and traffic will be diverted to one lane of traffic in the opposite direction that will operate with two-way traffic. Also, due to the above works, the entrance/exit to and from Kotsiatis will be closed and traffic will be diverted via the next Viomichaniki Idalion exit and then via the old Nicosia-Limassol road.
Nicosia Perimeter Motorway
From Monday 13/10/2025, at 07:00 in the morning and for a period of approximately 6 months, as part of the construction of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway, Phase B3, the 2 northern lanes of the road towards the government settlements of Anthoupolis, from the junction with the Nicosia - Paleochori road for a length of 350 meters will be closed to traffic. During the execution of the works, traffic towards the government settlements of Anthoupolis and vice versa will be carried out via Agios Georgios Avenue and Orthodoxy Street. Traffic towards Andromedas Street and vice versa will be carried out in the two southern lanes with a two-way direction.
Limassol Bypass
From Monday 13/10/2025 until Tuesday 18/11/2025, excluding weekends, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, logging work on burnt trees will be carried out by the Forestry Department on the Koilani – Vouni road. During the work, one lane of traffic of approximately 100m in length will be closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia, on Digeni Akrita Avenue, between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Kallipoleos Avenue, from 30/06/2025 to 24/11/2025, repair, maintenance and reinforcement works of the existing culvert will be carried out. During the works, a section of one lane of Digeni Akrita Avenue towards Pallouriotissa/Kaimakli will be closed sequentially for approximately 50m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In addition, both lanes in this direction will be closed during the days when concreting works are carried out and traffic will be diverted via alternative routes. Separate announcements will be issued for these cases to better inform the public.
On Digeni Akrita Avenue, the underground works between the intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Olympia Street have been completed 2 weeks earlier than planned. Therefore, from 06:00 on Monday, October 6, 2025 until 06:00 on Friday, November 14, 2025, the next phase of repair, maintenance and reinforcement of the existing culvert will be carried out on Digeni Akrita Avenue, between Olympia and Kleomenous Streets. During the works, the lanes of Digeni Akrita Avenue from Nicosia to Palouriotissa will be closed to traffic, between its intersections with Nikodimou Mylona Street and Kleomenous Street. The right-hand direction towards Nikodimou Mylona Street will remain open. Drivers from Nicosia to Palouriotissa are advised to use Kritis, Kypranoros, Androkleous streets and then Stasandrou/Pindarou streets and Stasinou Avenue for their journeys. To move to Kallipoleos Street, drivers are advised to use Nikodimou Mylona Street. To return to Digeni Akrita, drivers are advised to use Nikodimou Mylona, Damaskinou, Olympias, Eresou, Kallipoleos, Ifigenias, Dervenia, Efthimio Chatzipetrou and Georgiou Griva Digeni Streets. Traffic heading from Palouriotissa to Makariou Avenue will not be affected by the works.
In Lakatamia and Strovolos, also in the context of the works being carried out on Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Tseriou avenues, from Tuesday 27/05/2025 and for a period of approximately 6 months, the light-controlled intersection of Tseriou avenue with Theofilou Georgiadis street is being abolished and part of Theofilou Georgiadis street will be temporarily closed to traffic, up to its intersection with Ergatikattas street. All movements from Theofilou Georgiadis street to and from Tseriou avenue will be made via the temporary light-controlled intersection with Vasilissis Amalias street.
In Lakatamia and Strovolos, as part of the works for the Improvement/Construction Project of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos, and Tseriou Avenues, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 12:00 noon, the two southern lanes of the new Ippokratous Avenue will be opened to traffic, which will operate in a two-way direction. As part of the works to complete the northern lanes, access from Ippokratous Street (existing road) to Nikaias Street will be temporarily closed. Drivers coming from the area north of Ippokratous should follow a route through Vatylis, Agios Dimitrianou, Orfeos streets, and enter the new Ippokratous Avenue, from the roundabout at its intersection with Melinas Mercouri Street. Traffic from the south from Nikaias Street to Ippokratous Avenue will be diverted via a temporary intersection. Karavostasiou Street will remain closed and traffic will be diverted via Vatylis Street, as is currently the case. Traffic on Themistocleous Street will be conducted in both directions, from its junction with the new Ippokratous Avenue to Tseriou Avenue.
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia” project, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, which are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, Famagusta Avenue is included from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network of approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
Within the framework of the “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia” Project, during the period 24/04/2025-12/12/2025, the following traffic regulations will be in place:
Kalavryton Street with its junction with Famagusta will be closed. Drivers are asked to use Faliro Street for their transition to the Sopaz roundabout. Drivers are asked to use Terpsichoris Street for their transition to Larnaca Avenue, respectively.
Paphos Road will also be closed to traffic. Drivers using this road to travel to the area are asked to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street, which is parallel to Paphos Road and was specifically constructed for this purpose. Residents of the Paphos Road area who want to travel to Larnaca Avenue are asked to use Kantaras Street, while those who want to travel to the Sopaz roundabout are asked to use Gogou Paraskevaidi Street for this purpose.
Limassol District
Larnaca District
On the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca-Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, traffic, from the height of the LEBAY Hotel to the Radisson Beach Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for six months, will be diverted via Galaxia Street in Oroklini, while part of it, near the BORONIA Hotel, will be closed. In addition, the road connecting Oroklini with the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, at the height of the Oroklini Fire Station and the HENIPA Hotel, from April 24, 2025 and for two months, will be closed to traffic in both directions. Traffic will be diverted via Bella-Pais, Olympos and Athinon Streets in Oroklini. Drivers are urged to be careful.
