A new fire in reedbeds in the bed of the Chrysochos River between the communities of Skouli and Goudi broke out late yesterday afternoon.
The fire was extinguished shortly before midnight after burning an area of 2 hectares mainly covered with reeds and wild vegetation.
EAC stakes were burned by the fire, while the strong firefighting forces that operated in the area, recalled personnel from the fire service, protected individual houses outside the nuclei of the two communities.
