DEPARTMENT OF ROAD TRANSPORT - RECALL OF DANGEROUS CARS, TRACTORS & TRUCKS

The Department of Road Transport (TOM) has announced the recall of a number of vehicles, which have been registered as dangerous through the EU's early warning system, Safety Gate. The recall includes passenger and commercial vehicles, tractors and trucks.

According to information from the Consumer Protection Service for the 47th week of 2025, the following vehicles have been registered at the Safety Gate:

  • Toyota Proace and Proace Verso (commercial and passenger models), years 2022–2025
  • Volkswagen eTouareg (passenger), period 27/09/2018–21/08/2024
  • New Holland T6, T7 (tractor), period 06/03/2025–30/09/2025
  • CASE IH Maxxum 125, 145, 150 – Puma 150, 165, 175 (tractor), period 06/03/2025–30/09/2025
  • Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter (truck), period 23/06/2023–30/04/2024

The TOM in its announcement calls on manufacturers, dealers, distributors, importers and sellers who have made available or make available the specific vehicles in the Cypriot market to immediately inform the Department and take all necessary recall measures, as provided by law.

Consumers who own any of the affected vehicles are advised to contact the manufacturer, dealer, or distributor for guidance.

In the event that an economic operator refuses to satisfy the consumer's rights, citizens are invited to submit a written complaint to the Consumer Protection Service through the website www.consumer.gov.cy
