The position that Paphos has now become independent from the weather conditions in terms of water supply was expressed by the general director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Andreas Grigoriou, and the president of the EOA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis.
Mr. Grigoriou stated that the goal of not making cuts for water supply purposes was achieved. All the plans and actions that are being taken, he continued, are so that a problem does not arise again regardless of the weather conditions.
The president of HOA Paphos stated that in coordination with the WDD and the local authorities, it has adequately managed the water in the province of Paphos under particularly adverse conditions without the need for cuts.
Mr. Pittokopitis stated that from next year the desalination plant in Kouklia will increase its production from 15 to 25,000 cubic meters of water per day, while from October the unit in Potima will also operate with another 12,000 cubic meters per day.
