The recall of 2.123 OPEL/VAUXHALL brand vehicles due to defective TAKATA airbags concerns the driver's airbag and not the passenger, as originally reported, the Department of Road Transport said in a statement, after receiving a new update from the manufacturer's distributor.
In a new announcement, following the announcement dated October 17 regarding the recall, the Department of Road Transport states that, in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction, the affected vehicles must be stopped immediately.
Therefore, the Department adds, it has proceeded to revoke the certificates of suitability of the vehicles in question.
"Following the above, the owners of the affected vehicles are invited to contact the manufacturer's distributor in Cyprus, CIC Automasters, immediately for further instructions and to settle the matter," he concludes.
