The Ministry of the Interior issued an announcement, informing that a technical problem occurred in the Civil Registry System, as a result of which the issuance of passports and identity cards has been suspended, including the fast-track procedure for issuing travel documents.
The announcement is as follows:
The Ministry of Interior informs the public that, due to a technical problem in the Civil Registry System, the issuance of passports and identity cards, including the fast-track procedure for issuing travel documents, has been temporarily suspended. It is clarified that applications for the issuance of passports and identity cards continue to be received normally at the designated points.
The Civil Registry Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology Services of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, is making every effort to restore the operation of the system as soon as possible. A new update will follow as soon as the issue is resolved and it is possible to resume service to the public.
The Ministry of the Interior asks for the understanding and cooperation of the public and apologizes for the temporary inconvenience.
