The goal of eliminating the unacceptable and defamatory phenomenon of sewage leakage from the biological station in the coastal area of Geroskipou, has been achieved after the measures and decisions taken by the EOA Paphos. The president of the Organization, Charalambos Pittokopitis, told "F" that after the decisions taken by the EDA and the coordination with the other services involved, the recurrence of the phenomenon has been prevented.
Mr. Pittokopitis described the phenomenon of the repeated overflow of sewage on Geroskipou beach in previous years as criminal and expressed the certainty that after the measures taken by the EOA, the phenomenon that discredits Paphos will permanently disappear.
Among the decisions we made, said Mr. Pittokopitis, are the daily on-site inspection of the Biological Station and the pumping station, the replacement of worn and obsolete pipes and pumps, as well as the proper maintenance of the machines.
