The court's decree to demolish the animal shelter in Kato Paphos has been issued, but no one knows how it will be implemented, says the Party for the Animals, which is taking the initiative to solve the problem, noting that about 1000 animals will be found on the street again.
It is reported that the Local Authorities are unable to implement the Dog Law 184 (I)/2002 which provides that they must have temporary detention facilities.
The announcement adds that the meetings of the Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare with the competent authorities of Paphos did not bear fruit, for the creation of a regional shelter now seems like an illusory dream. It also announces that it is taking the initiative to immediately convene a meeting in collaboration with the Municipality of Ierokipia, with the participation of the EOA, the Ministry of Agriculture – Veterinary Services and volunteers of the shelter, with the aim of discussing in depth all the parameters concerning the shelter and how with the cooperation of all will find the immediate solution for the rescue of all animals.
