GOVERNMENT WEBSITES DOWN WITHOUT INTERNET - ATTRIBUTE PROBLEM TO A CABLE CUT - Updated

 Filenews 14 October 2025

A connectivity problem has been observed since the morning on the online government hub.

More specifically, information from Flenews states that employees in government services, even at the Presidential Palace, cannot connect to the internet.

Also, websites such as "Ariadni" or "Taxisnet" are not accessible to the public either, and the following message appears on their screens.

Initially, there was talk of a cyber attack, but later newer information attributes the damage to a problem with the online service provider. More specifically, in his first statement to Filenews, the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation, Nikodimos Damianou, attributed the problem to a cable cut. In a statement, the Deputy Ministry emphasizes that "there is no issue of cybersecurity or malicious action".

For his part, the Deputy Director General of the Deputy Ministry, Giorgos Komodromos, explained to Filenews that this is a fault in a line of one of the providers. He also noted that crews are on foot and in a short time the damage is expected to be repaired.

It is worth noting that the official websites of Ministries are accessible to citizens, but not from the computers of government services.

Update - A solution to the problem with internet connectivity and government websites seems to have been found by the competent services. All websites are gradually becoming accessible to the public again, while government employees can now work normally, a fact that is also confirmed by the Deputy Ministry of Research and Innovation.

It is recalled that on the morning of Tuesday, October 14, for about 2-3 hours, the websites of some important services, such as "Ariadni" and "Taxisnet" were inaccessible to citizens.

Initially, there was talk of a cyberattack, but later newer information attributed the damage to a problem with the internet service provider. More specifically, in his first statement to filenews, the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation, Nikodimos Damianou, attributed the problem to a cable cut.
