The Police arrested a 24-year-old man today, as part of the investigation of the offenses of dissemination of sexual abuse material. 

According to information received through Europol, four (4) different accounts were identified in a specific internet application, through which the user/holder of these accounts sent child sexual abuse material to other users. 

Today, the 24-year-old was arrested on a court warrant and a mobile phone was found in his possession, which was taken as evidence to be examined. 

A search followed, by virtue of a court warrant in his apartment, during which the following were located and received as evidence: 

A second mobile phone and a laptop,      A small amount of dry cannabis plant matter,    Handmade cigarettes with cannabis and a plastic grinder with traces of cannabis.

The examinations continue.

A serious traffic accident that occurred late on the night of Saturday, October 4, in Limassol, turned into a tragedy, with the victim being an 18-year-old motorcyclist, who "went out" on the asphalt.

This is Ali Tzaloutin, from Syria, born on November 27, 2007.

According to the first information, the accident occurred at 21:20 in the evening, when the young man was moving on a motorcycle on Piraeus Street, heading west. At the junction with Souliou Street, and while he allegedly developed breakneck speed, he failed to stop at a STOP sign, as a result of which he collided with a passing vehicle moving north on Souliou Street.

The collision was severe and led to the fatal injury of the 18-year-old, despite the efforts of the rescuers who rushed to the scene.

The 35-year-old driver of the car underwent an alcohol and drug test, with the results being negative.

According to the Police, the motorcycle driven by the unfortunate young man had been declared stolen.

A 28-year-old man, wanted by the Police, was arrested today and taken into custody to facilitate investigations into two investigated cases of illegal import and possession of methamphetamine with a total gross weight, more than three kilograms.

The 28-year-old was arrested pursuant to a court warrant issued against him based on testimony that emerged against him, during the investigation of the two cases. Tomorrow he is expected to appear before the Nicosia District Court, for the issuance of a detention order.

For the two cases, two other persons were arrested in the previous days and are in custody.

The first case concerns a quantity of methamphetamine, with a gross weight of 1,6 kg, which was found in a package containing threads. To facilitate the investigations, a 29-year-old man was arrested on September 30, 2025, who is in custody.

The second case concerns a quantity of methamphetamine, with a gross weight of one kilogram and 620 grams, which was also found in a postal package. To facilitate investigations, a 25-year-old man was arrested on October 1, 2025 and is still in custody.

For the purpose of locating and arresting the 28-year-old, the Police published his photo yesterday. After his arrest, the continuation of the publication of his photo and personal information is unnecessary.

A 47-year-old man was remanded in custody for four days by the Nicosia District Court on Sunday after fire started in Nicosia building.

Police received information at 4.45 on Saturday morning about a fire in Nicosia, to which they, the fire service and the electromechanical service responded.

Preliminary examinations showed the fire had broken out in an electricity meter box installed in the building’s entrance.

As a result of the fire, all the electricity meters in the building were destroyed, damaging its electrical circuits while damages were also caused to the walls and entrance to it.

The same day testimony was collected against the man, who was arrested on the strength of a court warrant.
