The Pancyprian Syndicate of Carriers A' announced that as of Monday, November 3, 2025, carriers will proceed with an indefinite abstention from work, despite recent meetings with the Ministers of Labour and Transport, as well as with the contractor company Eurogate, which manages the port of Limassol.
The decision was taken after an all-night meeting of the carriers, who studied the results of the consultations. As stated in the announcement, the problems concerning the Ministry of Transport remain unresolved, especially regarding the heights of the containers and the registration of the "bellows" type trailers (Extendable Skeletal Semitrailers, Trombones/Sliding Bogies).
At the same time, the carriers point out pending issues and operational issues in their relations with the Eurogate company in the port of Limassol, which have not been resolved.
The Trade Union thanks the Minister of Labour Giannis Panagiotou, acknowledging that he has shown understanding for the problems caused by the tachographs, but notes that the other issues remain open.
The strike will be indefinite and concerns exclusively the issues related to the Ministry of Transport and the management of the port of Limassol.
