The Government submitted a relevant bill to the House of Representatives for the immediate deportation and immediate removal of the political asylum status of those involved in criminal offenses, said Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis, adding, however, that the bill "remains pending to be discussed in the competent Committee chaired by AKEL".
Mr. Letympiotis condemned the incidents in schools, as well as the beating at the high school of Aglantzia, in which foreigners were also involved.
«First of all, there is no doubt that these are incidents, they are incidents that are unequivocally condemnable and no one can tolerate such incidents wherever they come from," he said.
Mr. Letympiotis added that "this Government has submitted a relevant bill to the House of Representatives for the immediate deportation and immediate removal of political asylum status from those involved in criminal offenses. A bill that remains pending to be discussed in the competent Committee chaired by AKEL. So, it is here again that we should all rise to the occasion and everyone should assume their own responsibilities."
Concluding, he said that as a Government we expect of course the procedures followed by the Police to be completed and all those necessary actions that are within our capabilities will be taken.
