The Network of Paphos - Greece's Twin Cities reactivates with an event of cultural self-awareness and empowerment
The Municipality of Paphos and the Paphos Network - Twin Cities of Greece announce the organization of the 1st Festival of Culture and Folklore, which will take place from 14 to 16 November 2025 in Paphos.
For three days, Paphos will be transformed into a vibrant crossroad of cultures, where sounds, dances and customs from many corners of Greekism will meet warm Cypriot hospitality.
The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, November 14, at 7.00 p.m., at the Markidio Municipal Theater, including a rich program of traditional music and dances by clubs of the sister cities:
• From the Municipality of Lamia: the High School of the Greek Girls of Lamia, the Roditsa Educational Exorist Association "Agios Athanasios" and the Cultural and Exorist Association of Kalyvia Lamia "Agios Georgios".
• From the Municipality of Kalamaria: the Pontian Kalamaria Association, the Caucasian Association of Kalamaria "The Pro-Mitheas", the Pontian Cultural Association of Kalamarias "The Mithrioi" and the Brotherhood of Kromnai Kalamaria.
• From the Municipality of Chania: the Chania Folk Group "Giannis Agiasmenakis".
Pafos will be represented by the Folk Club "Ktima", showcasing our music and dance tradition.
On Saturday, November 15, the Festival "hits" to the streets and squares of Paphos. The public will have the opportunity to enjoy live performances, music and dances from participating clubs and traditional forms of the city. The day will culminate with an all-dance troupe parade, culminating in Kennedy Square, where everyone together – clubs and audience – will dance a large communal dance of brotherhood, solidarity and solidarity.
On the afternoon of the same day, at the Old Electriki Multipurpose Culture Center, the mobile Photography Exhibition of History and Culture of the Paphos Network - Twin Cities of Greece will be inaugurated, consisting of photographic and archival material that records the history and traditions of the member cities.
During the Festival, representatives of the Municipalities will have the opportunity to discuss joint action initiatives in the areas of Education - Education, Culture and Tourism, based on the constitutional principles and objectives of the Network.
The Festival of Culture and Folklore aspires to be established as an annual institution, strengthening Paphos' relationship with its twin cities and highlighting the richness and diversity of Greek culture. Paphos, a city of history and culture, opens its arms to welcome its brothers from Greece, in a three-day celebration of cultural self-knowledge and rebirth.
