WORLD TOURISM DAY 2025 - 'TOURISM & SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION' - Pafos ETAP This year’s World Tourism Day message highlights the power of tourism not only to promote economic growth, but also to transform societies, protect the environment and create fair opportunities for all. Tourism in Cyprus and especially in Pafos is more than sun and sea – it is a living mosaic of culture, history and authentic experiences. It is nature, gastronomy, living traditions in a unique destination.
Pafos ETAP and the bodies that comprise it have long embraced sustainable transformation as a lever for shared prosperity. -They protect and promote our natural environment – ensuring beaches, seas, forests and biodiversity for future generations. -They contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our cultural identity – preserving and showcasing archaeological treasures, UNESCO monuments, the rural heritage and traditional arts, the unique history and culture of Cyprus. -They support the countryside and empower communities – ensuring that local communities benefit directly from tourism through employment, participation and support for small and family businesses. -The destination aims to further enhance sustainability for all-year tourism – diversifying tourism products to promote wellness, gastronomy, archaeological, cultural tourism, religious heritage, sports, ecotourism, etc. -We are expanding digital and smart tourism tools, making the trip to Paphos more accessible, more enriched and more interactive. -We are strengthening partnerships between the state, local authorities, businesses, academics and communities, so that sustainability is at the heart of every tourism initiativeClosing and on the occasion of the World Tourism Day celebrations, Destination Paphos invites residents, visitors and partners to become part of this common journey.
