The Church Square in Chloraka will be filled with tradition, music and dance on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00pm until midnight, as part of the great Tourism & Tradition Festival.
The Chloraka Community Council, in collaboration with the Cultural Environmental Group and the Women's Association, invites the public to a unique experience that highlights the richness of Cypriot tradition, with an artistic program, local flavours, crafts and exhibitions. Rich Artistic Program The musical group "Zea" will be on stage, presenting favourite Cypriot and Greek dances, zorb and syrtaki. A special moment of the evening is expected to be the impressive presentation of the traditional dance of the glasses by the virtuoso Aristotelis Valaoritis, holder of the Guinness World Record. The program is complemented by Cypriot folk poetry, which will be presented by beloved creators, such as Hambis Antoniou, Stavros Mavroidis, Andreas Kapantagis, Savvas Dimitriou, Tasos Efstathiou Kkalis and Adamos Peratikos. Tradition and Authenticity At the festival site, visitors will have the opportunity to experience traditional arts and crafts up close, such as basketry, pottery, woodcarving, weaving and a rich collection of Cypriot souvenirs. At the same time, local traditional products and authentic Cypriot delicacies will be exhibited, while the region's wine products will be offered for free tasting, inviting the public on a journey of flavours. Photo Exhibition The festival will be accompanied by a photo exhibition with tools of traditional professions and objects of daily life in Chloraka, Karagiozis figures and scenery, through the lens of Yiannis Parios. Free Admission The event is open to everyone with free admission, offering the opportunity for young and old to enjoy an authentic celebration of culture, tourism and tradition.
