THE TENDER FOR THE PAPHOS MARINA HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

The Deputy Ministry of Tourism announced today the tender for the submission of tenders for the construction of the Paphos Marina at the Potima location of Kissonerga.

According to the announcement, the project includes a marine development including a Marina with a capacity of one thousand seats for pleasure boats, both for the sea and for the land zone. The berths should amount to 70-80% of the total capacity of the marina, while for land the remaining percentage.

The announcement also includes residential and commercial development that may concern hotel infrastructure, as well as cruise ship accommodation infrastructure.

For the purposes of the project, the announcement states, the Government of the Republic of Cyprus intends to proceed with a two-phase open-ended process, which includes the current expression of interest phase and then the call for tenders phase.

The President of the Republic also referred to the Paphos Marina last night, during the presentation event of the major projects planned in the province.

The announcement of the Paphos Marina, said President Christodoulides, is a landmark project, which is expected to highlight the city as a top maritime and tourist destination.

This is a development of 165 thousand square meters, with the capacity to accommodate 1,000 yachts, which will strengthen the economy, create new jobs and upgrade the overall tourism product of the province, he stressed.
