PAN-STRIKE - WHAT THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SAYS ABOUT STUDENTS

 Filenews 10 September 2025

Regarding the all-out strike that has been announced for tomorrow, September 11, 2025, from 11:00 to 14:00, the Ministry of Education informs parents/guardians that with a view to safety and the best possible service to students, the following will apply:

i. Parents/guardians are responsible for picking up their children from their school unit at 11:00 a.m.

ii. For students who use the buses during their departure from the school, there will be no return routes. Therefore, the parents/guardians of these students are invited to arrange for the collection of their children upon their departure from the school.

iii. Regarding the students attending a Unified All-Day School/School of Special Interest, it is noted that after the end of the general strike, all employees will return to their duties. Therefore, those parents/guardians who wish to return their children to the Unified All-Day School/School of Special Interest should take them themselves to school at 14:00 and pick them up at the end of the lessons.

iv. Meals for the students of the Unified All-Day School/School of Special Interest will not be offered.

v. Community Kindergartens, which operate in classrooms of Public Kindergartens or in buildings of Community Volunteer Councils or Municipalities or Communities, are Private Kindergartens, since they are established and operate on the basis of the Private Schools Laws of 2019 to 2025 and therefore the kindergarten teachers working in them are private employees. Therefore, they receive instructions for their operation on the day of the strike from their employers (Parents' Associations, Municipalities, Community Volunteer Councils).
