The new social initiative of businessman Tassos Papanastasiou focusing on substantial contribution and long-term empowerment of society.
With a vision of a more just, resilient and united society, the ENA Foundation officially begins its action in Cyprus, inaugurating a new era of social contribution and substantial change. It is an independent, non-profit organization, which aspires to activate the power of UNA, of every person, of every action, of every community, as a lever of collective progress and lasting impact.
The ENA Foundation is an initiative of businessman Tassos Papanastasiou, co-founded and inspired by Christiana Panayi. Both, with a deep belief in the concept of collective contribution, wanted to create an institution dedicated to society. Rooted in Cypriot and Greek culture, and inspired by the values of unity and pride, they put into practice their personal commitment to return to society and support it in a sustainable way. The ENA Foundation is primarily funded by private resources and stands out for its commitment to sustainable social progress.
''For me, success doesn't make sense if you don't share it. If you don't give something back, not out of obligation, but because you really want to stand next to others. The ENA Foundation started with a simple thought, how can we help people who have dreams, but need support to make them happen. I believe that everyone deserves a chance. And that change doesn't come from big statements, but by actions. If we can be part of this change, even for one person, then we have done something worthwhile," Mr. Papanastasiou points out.
In its inception, the ENA Foundation chooses to focus on three specific areas that reflect its philosophy, the empowerment of the individual, through support mechanisms.
The ENA Foundation's first actions are designed to serve as examples of positive change, leveraging the potential and resources that already exist in local communities. These are interventions with specific objectives and measurable results, which strengthen vulnerable social groups, promote citizen participation and promote cooperation for common benefit.
Beyond the Medal: This is a program created to support athletes of Olympic and Paralympic level, not only in sports, but also in their education and professional career. It recognizes that an athlete's journey does not stop on the playing field and that education is the foundation for a well-rounded and sustainable life path. Our champions, with their consistency and dedication, are the best role models for the importance of continuous learning and personal development. That is why the program offers substantial support to our top athletes, from today until the 2028 Olympic Games, in which they have the opportunity to participate. It aims to reinforce the concept of "dual careers" and highlight life patterns based on learning, effort, and sustained progress. Eight athletes have already joined the program and will take advantage of the support of the ENA Foundation, with the aim of combining their athletic ambitions with their academic studies. Their names will be officially announced soon.
Grants for Change: This is an initiative that aims to empower and support Cypriot society by funding projects implemented by local organizations. This action aspires to transform local ideas into projects with substantial impact and sustainability, projects that benefit and strengthen the wider society. The program offers funding of up to €20,000 to proposals aimed at the empowerment and social inclusion of vulnerable groups. At the moment, the program is in the process of evaluating the applications and the projects that will be selected for funding will be announced in mid-November.
Envision Together: This is a program that focuses on public space as a meeting point, social interaction, and shared experience. The purpose of the program is to create or upgrade parks and other communal infrastructure, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion. The existence of functional, accessible and stylish public spaces contributes substantially to the improvement of the quality of life and strengthens the relationship of citizens with the city and with each other. The first actions of the program will be presented soon, in the context of new initiatives planned by the Foundation.
''The ENA Foundation was founded to support, strengthen and create a new framework of cooperation. We want to design programs that offer sustainable solutions and improve them over time together with society, as authentic partners and companions", notes Anastasia Ellina, one of the Foundation's coordinators. For his part, Konstantinos Kkaili, also one of the coordinators of the ENA Foundation, adds: "We come to create together. To support existing efforts and to pave the way for new ideas and offer opportunities. Everything is done through participation, cooperation and joint effort.''
With a strategic approach, transparency and partnerships, the ENA Foundation comes to strengthen the collective effort for a society with substantial progress and real impact. The focus is always on people. Every community. Every idea that deserves to be put into practice.
The ENA Foundation addresses an open call to citizens, organizations and institutions to become part of this journey. Because change starts from ONE and acquires real power when it is multiplied.
