MEETING BETWEEN HERMES AIRPORTS AND PAFOS TOURISM ORGANISATIONS
A meeting of Hermes Airports executives, consisting of the Chief Executive Officer Ms. Eleni Kalogirou and the Director of Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication Ms. Maria Kouroupi, with organisations from the Pafos District, was held yesterday, 15 September.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Pafos ETAP, Mr.Michalis Mitas, the President of PASYXE, Mr. Thanos Michaelides, the President of PASYXE, Mr. Evripides Loizides, the President of the Pafos EVE, Mr. Giorgos Mais and the Executive Director of the Pafos ETAP, Nasos Hatzigeorgiou, on behalf of the Pafos District.
The meeting examined a number of issues such as the smooth operation and effective management of Paphos International Airport. Hermes provided information on the progress of work and upgrade schedules at Paphos International Airport, as well as on the immediate and long-term solutions being promoted to serve the public at the airport (ground handling of aircraft and passengers, immigration, etc.). At the same time, a review of the results of the 2025 summer season to date was made, the flight schedules for the 2025-2026 winter season were discussed, forecasts for the 2026 summer season, challenges and the prospects presented in some markets were analyzed.
A preliminary discussion was held on the prospects and further coverage of Paphos' air connection from various markets such as Germany, Lebanon, Armenia, Egypt, Nordic countries, Switzerland, etc., while the need for further strengthening of the cooperation between Hermes airports, ETAP and entrepreneurs was confirmed for penetration into markets that can contribute to the reduction of seasonality and the development of tourism on a year-round basis. The meeting was held in a spirit of excellent cooperation. The two parties agreed to repeat a similar meeting in the coming days in order to examine in detail specific actions that need to be undertaken with the common goal of upgrading accessibility to Paphos and strengthening the tourist flow to the District on a year-round basis.
