INCREASE IN WINTER FLIGHTS AS WELL

 Pafos Live 9 September 2025

The increase in flights at Paphos airport during the winter season has contributed greatly in recent years to the transformation of the province into a year-round tourist destination.

According to data provided by executives of the management company to journalists in today's briefing and during the upcoming winter season, a slight increase in flights is expected, compared to last year, mainly from airports in Northern and Central Europe and the region. They estimate that 2025 will end with 3.8 million passengers moving through Paphos Airport and that they will increase to 4 million next year. In relation to the expansion projects of the airport of phase B that are in progress, it is estimated that they will be completed by the end of 2027.

Projects will be implemented at Paphos Airport that increase the capacity of the airport terminal by approximately 30%, significantly improving the passenger experience and the efficiency of controls and procedures. At the same time, the southern parallel taxiway will be extended, enhancing the operational flexibility of the airport. These projects, however, seem to have been slow to start since the developments, and the increased traffic at Paphos airport, in particular, confirm this mainly during peak hours and days.

On this issue, the communication officers of the management company blamed the ground retirement companies on which fines have already been imposed while they have now been better staffed.
