The time change is approaching and the clocks will turn back an hour as daylight saving time comes to an end.
Specifically, at 04:00 in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, the indicators will return at 03:00, giving an extra hour of sleep. The change always takes place on Saturday night to Sunday, in order to limit the upheavals in everyday life.
Scientists emphasize that the change affects the biological rhythm, causing temporary fatigue and confusion in the body. Choosing Sunday helps to adjust more smoothly, without major professional or school obligations.
In the European Union, the time change is applied twice a year:
- Daylight saving time starts on the last Sunday of March.
- Winter time is applied on the last Sunday of October.
The measure was adopted in the 1970s, after the energy crisis of 1973, with the aim of saving energy through greater use of natural light.
