CARMEN - TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

The curtain of the 23rd "Pafos Aphrodite Festival" opens tomorrow

Organizers promise a unique opera night with Georges Bizet's "Carmen"
With the final test taking place tonight, the countdown to the 23rd "Pafos Aphrodite Festival" begins. Based on the rich and strong backing of the institution’s previous events and especially on its successful relaunch last year, as well as the warm response of opera friends to this year’s event, the organizers are certain to deliver a unique experience that will bear the stamp of the institution’ s quality.
Within the context of the Festival, tomorrow Friday 5th and the day after tomorrow Saturday 6th September, the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theater, with the collaboration for the second consecutive year of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, will present Georges' "Carmen" in two performances Bizet, one of the most popular operas of all time, in a very interesting production that will impress.
In order to conduct the Festival smoothly and to avoid causing inconvenience to those affected, the following arrangements have been provided:
(1) At Apostolos Pavlos Avenue, at the height of the roundabout next to Kings Avenue Mall, at the intersection of Noseidonos Avenue with Pafia Aphrodite Street and on the coastal Noseidon Avenue, at the top of the Hotel "Almyra", there will be checkpoints and guidance on the evenings of the performances (Friday and Saturday) of drivers. From 6.30 pm μ. will not be allowed to continue the march from these points to Limanaki for those who do not have a ticket or an entry slip (pass).
(2) Drivers heading to Limanaki (ticket or entry ticket holders) will have the possibility to park in the Archaeological Park Parking Area, in the area opposite the restaurant "Chontros", in the area behind the buildings of the Cyprus Port Authority and in the open area opposite the Archaeological Visitor Center Horou (former "Circle" Gallery).
(3) Drivers not related to the Festival performances can park in the Parking Area opposite the "Amavi" Hotel (Neptune Avenue) and in the Parking Area of Apollonos Street (across the Kato Paphos Cemetery).
(4) On road accidents and at other points of the route to the Port, there will be members of the Police and the Traffic Service who will manage the traffic and guide the drivers.
Drivers are requested to comply with the instructions of the authorities on duty and with relevant marking to avoid accidents and inconvenience.
