UPGRADING THE OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOL OF IEROKIPIA
The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company warmly welcomes
the recent decision of the Board of Directors of the TASSOS PAPADOPOULOS to fully cover the costs for the restoration of the swimming pool of the TASSOS PAPADOPOULOS Olympic Swimming Pool in the Municipality of Ierokipia.
A project of strategic importance for the entire province is set to be implemented in the
next period by the Municipality of Ierokipia.
At the same time, ETAP congratulates the Municipality of Ierokipia for its significant cooperation with the TASSOS PAPADOPOULOS, for this very positive development.
The Olympic-sized swimming pool of Geroskipou (Ierokipia) is considered a vital infrastructure for the Municipality and the sports infrastructure of the Paphos district, since it is used by national teams and clubs from abroad for preparations and training.
These missions contribute significantly to the stimulation of the local economy with the accommodation of large missions in the hotel units of the area, mainly during the winter period of November-March. The infrastructure, in turn, contributes decisively to the enrichment of sports tourism, to the reduction of seasonality and to the attraction of visitors with higher income levels. The Paphos Swimming Association declares that it is fully prepared, as soon as the projects progress, to begin, together with the other partners, the intensive promotion of the swimming pool in the global tourist arena in order to reposition the infrastructure once again in the choices and preferences of dozens of teams and hundreds of individual athletes.
