The Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO) has invited those participating in the Trial Operation Period (IPP) of the Competitive Electricity Market (AAH) to proceed immediately with the settlement of their outstanding issues, so that they are ready with the start of its commercial operation.
In a statement, the TSO clarifies that participation in the IPL does not automatically imply participation in the Competitive Electricity Market. "If the interested parties do not proceed with the necessary procedures in time, they will be deleted from the Market Management System," it is characteristically noted.
The TSOO also stresses that those entities, such as manufacturing facilities or consumer portfolios, that remain unrepresented by AAH participants will also be removed from the system.
The Competitive Electricity Market is the new framework for the liberalization of the Cypriot energy market, with the aim of enhancing competition and reducing costs for consumers and businesses.
