THE WATER BALANCE IN PAPHOS IS IMPROVING

The contractor's machinery for the mobile desalination plant of Peyia is now working at full speed with the aim of having everything ready by the end of August to perform at its maximum potential, while at the same time, work continues on the permanent desalination plant of Kouklia, which was destroyed by fire at the end of 2024, with those in charge hoping that it will be put into production very soon.

With these data, the climate in Paphos regarding water scarcity has begun to change for the better lately, with those responsible estimating that even the last plans will be able to yield to the improvement of the water balance in order to avoid the worst, which also translate into constant cuts in water supply.

In the meantime, according to information from "F", the experts who have been dealing with the repair of the damage caused at the Mavrokolympos dam have now completed all the final checks on the repair methodology, in order to now select the solution that will certainly contribute to the return to operation of the dam safely and to start filling with water at the beginning of the hydrological year.
