Procedures are underway for the return of 13-year-old M.A. from Syria to Turkey, in order to be reunited with his family, after he was located in the occupied areas.
According to an announcement by the "social services service" in the occupied areas, the minor's family has been found and has already been contacted.
The final goal, after the completion of the legal procedures, is the safe return of the minor to his relatives.
The 13-year-old, who had been announced as a missing person by the Police since August 6, 2025, is in good health and has been placed under protection. It is currently housed in the "Tangul Unal Caginer House of Love" center, a structure that aims to provide children under "state" protection with the opportunity to live in a familiar environment, under the supervision of the "competent service" and in cooperation with the "authorities".
The statement concludes by stating that the Turkish Cypriot "authorities" are closely monitoring the issue and that the whole process is being conducted in accordance with international principles for the rights and protection of the child.
