Objections are expressed in PSEKA's reply letter to the State Department for its formulation that Turkey is a "long-standing NATO ally with a history of significant contributions".
The State Department, responding to a bipartisan letter signed by 40 members of Congress, reiterated its commitment to comply with U.S. law prohibiting the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.
"The invasion and continued occupation of 37% of the Republic of Cyprus, Ankara's actions in Syria, Armenia and Libya, the acquisition of Russian S-400 missiles, as well as its relations with the Islamic State and Hamas, make it a source of problems."
PSEKA calls on the Trump administration to put pressure on Ankara to behave as a reliable ally and not as an "adversary" of the United States.
