The Police proceeded to the arrest of the 26-year-old Indian who was injured last night, after a fight in the apartment building in which he lives, on Shakespeare Street, in Larnaca, as, as it was established, he has been illegally residing in the territory of the Republic since 20/6/2024.
The young man is hospitalized in the hospital and is expected to be discharged soon, after suffering a crushing wound to the right shoulder during the incident. According to the Police, the injured man underwent sutures, with his health condition out of danger.
It is also noted that the Larnaca Police Department, after examinations it conducted, proceeded to identify the details of one of the two perpetrators involved in the case, and procedures are already underway for the issuance of an arrest warrant. It is a compatriot of the injured 26-year-old. As for the second person, also from India, tests are being carried out to identify him, since the victim does not know him.
In relation to the Greek Cypriot who was injured during the incident, in his attempt to defuse the situation, his hospitalization was not deemed necessary.
The examinations continue from the TAE of Larnaca.

A 28-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon in Larnaca for facilitating investigations into a drug possession case.
During a search carried out at his home, eight bags containing white powder, believed to be cocaine, with a total weight of about five grams, were found and received.
A quantity of cannabis weighing 15 grams, ten pills believed to be ecstasy, as well as a precision scale were also found.
During the investigation, the 28-year-old threatened and attacked members of the Police Force, throwing various objects at them, resulting in a slight leg injury to a member of the Service.
He also attacked the chest of another member of the YKAN with his head, but without causing injury.
The Anti-Narcotics Service (Larnaca Unit) continues the examinations.

The 19-year-old National Guardsman, Christos Christakis from Aradippou, who was injured in Mackenzie when he fell from his friend's vehicle, has lost his battle for life. It is noted that the 19-year-old who was driving the car had been arrested by the Police.
According to the Police, the 19-year-old's life ended yesterday shortly after 18:10 in the afternoon at the American Medical Center hospital in Nicosia. Arrangements are expected to be made for the legalized autopsy.
It is recalled that the incident happened around 11:30 on Monday evening in the large parking lot, behind the entertainment centers of Mackenzie. A group of friends, most of them licensed National Guardsmen, after leaving a restaurant in the area, were in the parking lot to get into cars and return to their homes.
The initial testimony, on the basis of which a relevant message was issued on Tuesday morning by the Police, spoke of a road accident in which a 19-year-old, who was in a car with a passenger of his age, accidentally dragged the 19-year-old in his attempt to approach him so that he too could get into the vehicle. According to those testimonies, the young man fell to the ground and hit his head.
Along the way, however, and on the basis of the 19-year-old driver's voluntary testimony, the facts changed drastically with the case being assigned yesterday afternoon to the Larnaca TAE, which arrested the suspect.
The 19-year-old driver was detained for two days for the incident and yesterday he was released, pending the completion of the exams of the Larnaca TAE.

The 48-year-old man is detained in the Central Prison who is accused of the murder of his 80-year-old father Giorgos Hadjigeorgiou, which was committed in Limassol at the beginning of July. He will remain in custody until the start of his trial before the Assize Court on October 21.
The 48-year-old, who, according to the Police, had confessed to committing the crime, immediately after committing it, was hospitalized at the Athalassa hospital. Last Wednesday, the 48-year-old was rearrested and brought before the Limassol District Court where he was remanded in custody for two days, as a suspect of premeditated murder. With the expiration of his detention order, he was brought back before the District Court of the city where he was referred to a direct trial before the Assize Court on October 21, 2025.
The 48-year-old allegedly stabbed his father to death in the apartment of a privately owned apartment building where they lived. He then informed the Police, members of which rushed to the area where the murder was committed and arrested him. With them lived the wife and mother of the perpetrator.
